David L. Kachel Memorial Scholarship Program
The David L. Kachel Memorial Scholarship was founded in memory of David Kachel, a lifelong Whitewater resident and founder of D.L.K. Enterprises, Inc., a company that has specialized in housing students for over 55 years. The scholarship is intended to recognize a current D.L.K. Enterprises tenant and UW-Whitewater student who has demonstrated superior commitment to his/her educational experiences at UW-Whitewater. The award is in the form of compensation for cost of housing and will be applied to a future rent obligation in the student?s D.L.K.-managed house or apartment.
All applicants must be current tenants of D.L.K. Enterprises, Inc. and be continuing as a D.L.K. Enterprises tenant through at least May 2018, have at least junior standing at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and be enrolled as a full-time student for the Spring 2017 semester. Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and demonstrate superior academic performance, campus involvement, and dedication to the improvement of and involvement within the Whitewater community.
Applications may be picked up at the D.L.K. Office any time and returned no later than December 18, 2016.
Awards are made for the Spring semester and applications will be available in late fall semester. Please check back regularly for more information.
