David L. Kachel Memorial Scholarship Program
The David L. Kachel Memorial Scholarship was founded in 2012 in loving memory of David Kachel, a lifelong Whitewater resident and founder of D.L.K. Enterprises, Inc., a company that has specialized in housing students for more than 60 years. The scholarship is intended to recognize current D.L.K. Enterprises tenants and University of Wisconsin-Whitewater students who have demonstrated a superior commitment to their education. The award is in the form of compensation for the cost of housing and will be applied to the recipient’s rent obligation for the Spring 2021 semester in their current D.L.K. Enterprises house or apartment.
Requirements:
All applicants must be current tenants of D.L.K. Enterprises, Inc. and be continuing as a D.L.K. Enterprises, Inc. tenant through at least May 2021, have at least 50 credits (credit requirement does not apply to graduate students) completed at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and be enrolled as a full-time student for the Spring 2021 semester. Applicants must maintain a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA and demonstrate a willingness to work for success. Preference will be shown to those who have maintained employment while attending school, show campus involvement, and prove dedication to the improvement of and involvement within the Whitewater community.
